NVIDIA's Cloud data centers host ground-breaking products across high-performance computing to machine learning applications for autonomous vehicles and healthcare. At the heart of our data centers is the ability to engineer mechanical and electrical designs in close coupling to NVIDIA's industry-leading GPU and DGX products. We are seeking a Data Center Electrical Design Engineer to support the electrical design of our high performance data centers!
What you will be doing:
Collaborate with product owners and technical leads to identify and establish requirements for our next-generation data centers
Creating designs from concept to the permit and construction document set
Defining critical equipment specifications, approving equipment submittals, responding to RFIs, and reviewing turnover documentation
Responsible for data center electrical designs, in collaboration with other teams, to incorporate owner project requirements
Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers to specify the appropriate electrical equipment and commissioning teams to accurately validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems
Review data center commissioning scripts and final commissioning reports to ensure they accurately test all modes of operations
Provide technical support for construction and commissioning issues and engage and collaborate with internal and 3rd party teams and engineers of record to enable outstanding design and product lifecycle management
Partner with OEM vendors to understand and influence electrical system product road maps to align with current and future requirements
Prepare documentation including: Statements of work (SOW), total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, conceptual designs, factory witness test and acceptance documents.
Perform Factory Witness Testing; driving documentation for testing and delivery of product installations and driving root cause analysis, corrective actions, and risk assessments
What we need to see:
BS and/or MS in Electrical Engineering with a PE License (or equivalent experience) and 8+ years professional experience in data center design or construction
Problem-solving skills and experience driving root cause analysis to sophisticated projects under pressure
Knowledge of building codes and laws including Life Safety, BOCA, NEC, NFPA and OSHA
Extensive knowledge of electrical power paths from utility distribution including high, medium and low voltage systems for both IT and Mechanical to the rack. Including power distribution for UPS, Generators, Floor PDUs, RPPs, Busway, and power supplies/power shelve, Chillers, Cooling Towers, CRAC, CRAH, as the need arises supporting data center environments
Expert level knowledge of short circuit coordination and arc flash studies
Experience with equipment commissioning, testing, or related activities
Understanding of electrical design and operational changes with high power rack densities
High level understanding of mechanical air-side and water-side systems for critically important environments and various data center HVAC topologies
Solid understanding of control systems, EPMS, building and IT monitoring protocols, data analysis, and reporting
Proficiency in software packages for design and analysis of electrical power systems, CAD (Creo), Autodesk;NavisWork 3D modeling, and CFD analysis software
Experience in electrical load management within critically important facilities
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Knowledge and experience with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) systems, Level 1-5 commissioning for critical environments and working with direct-to-chip liquid cooling technologies
Experience with startup and configuration of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and SCADA workstations.
Experienced working in a leased colocation data center environment and with total electrical infrastructure design and implementation
Supporting build-to-suit data center projects and Knowledge of networking & structured cabling distribution
Track record with delivering high availability and central initiatives in sophisticated, global environments
Experience with Direct Current (DC) power distribution and Understanding of international electrical systems and designs

The base salary range is $144,000 - $276,000. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
