Director, Linux System Software - GPU

We are now looking for a Director Linux System Software - GPU. The position is embedded in the GPU Software organization and will be responsible for innovation of new features, the performance and quality of NVIDIA’s Linux Graphics driver. As a support organization to other teams, the Director Linux System Software will work in a worldwide cross-functional environment and help to align Linux strategies and direction across NVIDIA.
What you'll be doing:
Define and implement the strategy for the NVIDIA Linux Graphics driver.
Own an organization of expert engineers in a complex technology driven environment. Building a stronger organization, hiring and developing leaders.
Build positive relationships with many internal teams including technical specialists, customer support, marketing, product planning, field engineers, development, and test management.
Drive market requirements and participate in technical designs with internal and external partners in the Linux ecosystem.
Promote the NVIDIA culture to your growing organization.
Guide the organization leads to identify, develop, and apply the best software development methodologies and processes, adapting to an agile environment. Drive continuous process improvements.
Support large system wide software project in planning, design, development, and maintenance.
What we need to see:
A Bachelor, Master or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related computationally focused science degree (or equivalent experience).
15+ years of shown experience in software development, specifically for graphics.
6+ overall years in a similar or related role including leading managers.
Strong background with Linux kernel maintenance and development
Flexibility to work across time zones.
Diligent and comfortable multitasking in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and changing requirements.
Excellent communication and technical presentation skills, internally and with external customers as well.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Experience leading and supervising system bring-up and debug, support of all platform hardware elements.
Strong background in Linux kernel graphics development
Experience driving bring up and problem solving of GPUs

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
