Senior Front End Web Developer

NVIDIA is looking for a highly motivated senior web UI developer to join its Software Infrastructure team. The position will be part of a dynamic crew that develops sophisticated software tools to optimize development workflow and increase overall efficiency. NVIDIA is crafting a vision of incredible user experiences in the mobile, embedded and automotive spaces by combining our groundbreaking Tegra and GPU development efforts into creative boundary pushing and genre defining products. The Infrastructure, Planning and Processes (IPP) team is a global organization within NVIDIA which helps make this vision possible by crafting and maintaining a large scale private cloud system used for providing build and test infrastructure services for NVIDIA GPU, Mobile and Automotive Divisions. You should thrive when working in the critical path supporting thousands of developers working for billion dollar business lines as well as intimately understand the values of responsiveness, thoroughness and collaboration.

What you’ll be doing:

• Design and develop sophisticated user interfaces for various critical Nvidia products to achieve a coherent, interactive, and visually appealing UI design and to improve system operability.

• Engage with partners, backend engineers, and UX/UI designers around the globe to define requirements and implement solutions and improvements of new/existing products.

• Ensure that modules and/or product(s) across your teams are consistent in look and feel.

• Drive performance tuning, usability improvements and test automation for UI

• Leading software development projects and technically lead a team of brilliant engineers and guide them to provide optimal and impactful solutions.

• Looking for problems within software systems and resolving the issues

What we need to see:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• 8+ years of hands-on experience building sophisticated web-based user interfaces.

• Solid understanding of frontend fundamentals (vanilla JS, CSS, HTML and DOM APIs)

• Web Development experience including TypeScript, React (w/ Hooks), Next JS (or other SSR frameworks), Redux, CSS preprocessors, Webpack, styled-components, and functional programming

• Excellent debugging, problem solving and analytical skills

• Background in Databases SQL (MySQL) and/or NoSQL (Elastic Search /MongoDB/Cassandra)

• Effective communication and coordination skills

• Previous success developing and shipping a large-scale web application with a user-empathetic approach

• Ability to think big about problem statements, recommend alternative technical approaches and build optimal solutions

• Proficient with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet & Chef, also with Kubernetes, dockers & virtualization

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

• Strong background in software-as-a service (SaaS)

• Experience working in agile development practices such as Kanban

• Background with computer algorithms and ability to choose the best possible algorithms to meet the scaling challenge

• Ability to analyze sophisticated problems into simple sub problems and then reuse available solutions to implement most of those

The base salary range is $176,000 - $333,500.
