What you'll be doing
As a Senior Linux Kernel Architect, you will provide technical leadership and strategic guidance to define and develop new features, optimize kernel integration, manage patches, and deliver cutting-edge solutions. Collaborate closely with distro vendors to improve system performance and ensure timely updates, bug fixes, and security enhancements are delivered to products.
Define a forward-thinking roadmap for NVIDIA products using the Linux kernel and lead the design of innovative new features and enhancements. Customize Linux kernel solutions for diverse industries like autonomous vehicles, embedded systems, enterprise, medical, and robotics.
Compliance with safety and security standards, such as ISO 26262 and ISO 21434, is essential in this role. Bring extensive experience in Linux kernel development, community interaction, performance optimization, and enhancing security. Collaborate effectively with customers and distro vendors, tackle complex technical issues, and inspire multi-functional collaboration.
What we need to see
Extensive experience in Linux kernel development, with a focus on hypervisors, virtualization, memory management, and scheduling.
Knowledge and experience with Linux distribution creation, system administration, process management, package management, kernel management, boot architecture, complex system debugging, and performance analysis.
Proven expertise in collaborating with the Linux community and distro vendors for effectively delivering features, improvements, and minimizing downstream patches.
Expertise in SoC system architecture, microprocessor, and microcontroller fundamentals (caches, buses, memory controllers, DMA, etc.)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with multi-functional teams.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, inspiring and mentoring team members.
Passion for staying updated with the latest advancements in the Linux kernel community and driving innovation.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related degree or equivalent experience.
8+ years of professional experience in Linux engineering, encompassing Linux Kernel, embedded systems, and product development.
Ways to stand out from the crowd
Familiarity with security standards, including ISO 21434, and the ability to implement robust security measures.
Contributions to open source projects that showcase your technical skills, collaborative nature, and commitment to the development community.
