Nvidia is hiring a
Senior System Performance and Power Engineer
NVIDIA has continuously reinvented itself over two decades. Our invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI — the next era of computing. NVIDIA is a “learning machine” that constantly evolves by adapting to new challenges that are hard to tackle, that only we can pursue, and that matter to the world. This is our life’s work, to amplify human inventiveness and intelligence. Make the choice to join us today.
NVIDIA silicon solutions group is seeking a hardworking engineer to be part of a silicon HW team to support a slew of exciting new products. As a member of this team, you are responsible for architecting, designing, and integrating system features and policies with a deep understanding of product needs that will get delivered to notebook, desktop, embedded, automotive and professional solution markets. Prior experience in the lab with system level post silicon bring-up and debug is desirable.
What you'll be doing:
Architect, design, and integrate system level policies and features to optimize product performance and power under different use cases.
Develop innovative system features to address low power, low noise, perf/watt efficient product requirements; prototype features on existing silicon; analyze costs vs benefits; build and maintain feature bring-up plans for new silicon and participate in bring-up execution.
Keep track of the latest industry direction, market needs, and technology development, and incorporate them into future roadmaps to build more competitive products.
Work closely and proactively with other engineering teams such as system architecture, ASIC/PCB design, software/firmware, HW/SW QA and Applications Engineering to drive design, development, debug and release of next generations products.
Lead debugging, craft WARs, and support manufacturing and customer issues on relevant features.
What we need to see:
BS or MS degree in EE/CE or equivalent experience.
10+ years of proven experience in silicon design, validation, power and performance analysis.
Strong EE fundamentals, knowledgeable in digital design, low power design, DVFS, signal integrity, statistics, timing analysis, sampling, architecture, filters, and scripting.
Strong understanding of firmware/driver structures and their interaction with HW.
Validated hands-on lab experience with silicon bringup, lab debug and lab tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers).
Helpful to have prior experience with perf and power optimization, control systems, boot/reset flows, micro-architecture, and system architecture.
Excellent problem solving, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
Experience with Python, Perl, C/C++, Windows, and Linux is a plus.
You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
