NVIDIA is searching for a highly motivated, technical engineering manager to join the Tegra system-on-chip (SoC) software organization and help us build the most power efficient, high performance SoC's and GPU's. This position offers the opportunity to innovate in a dynamic, technology-focused company; impacting product lines ranging from self-driving cars, HPC and the growing field of artificial intelligence. You will manage a team responsible for key aspects of our SoC kernel drivers , embedded firmware and system software architecture. With a targeted charter to enable best-in-class power and performance for our next generation of ARM SoCs.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead a team that focuses on power + performance innovation for new SoC architectures; from pathfinding, pre-silicon development, verification, silicon bringup and production

  • Collaborate with CPU, GPU & SoC hardware architecture teams. Together finding opportunities to improve our architecture and make it more power efficient generation to generation.

  • Assist in defining system level HW/SW policies to maximize performance and performance/watt.

  • Define processes and execution methodologies for the organization to deliver on power & performance goals

  • Using strong communication skills, present the team vision + roadmap to senior NVIDIA and external leaders.

  • Provide technical leadership and career mentorship to the team

What we need to see:

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree or equivalent experience

  • 6+ years’ experience as an engineering manager

  • 10+ overall years of experience

  • Proven leadership skills and strong ownership on past projects involving a large scale sophisticated code base

  • Hands on technical experience and demonstrated excellence in an environment with complex software and hardware designs

  • Expertise in SoC system architecture, microprocessor, and microcontroller fundamentals (caches, buses, memory controllers, DMA, etc.)

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience analyzing, debugging and tuning performance of complex system software stacks operating on ARM SoCs

  • Knowledgeable in performance and power management techniques such as DVFS, clock and power gating, clock sequencing, binning and power/thermal budgeting

  • Comfortable operating in highly matrixed organizations while holding a leadership position

The base salary range is $268,000 - $414,000. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
