We are seeking a Systems Engineer to be part of our Datacenter System Engineering Team. In this exciting role, you will help build NVIDIA’s next generation of Enterprise Class Server Computing products for the HGX and DGX product lines working closely with JDM/ODM partners. You will engage with JDM/ODM partners and help drive the design of system boards for next-generation architectures involving all aspects of product definition, design and execution. You will enjoy exposure to a wide range of innovations, technologies and expertise. The qualified candidate will possess a balance of skills that include server system architecture, electrical engineering, thermal-mechanicals, chassis power, networking interfaces and knowledge of software/firmware systems. Experience in validating and troubleshooting of sophisticated computing systems is a key skill set.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work closely with JDM/ODM partners to define and design DGX system products with focus on driving and managing system board designs from architecture definition through board design and release to manufacturing.

  • Work closely with architecture and design teams to ensure products under development are functional, serviceable, manufacturable, and meet reliability requirements.

  • Work with cross-disciplined team such as SW, reliability, supply chain management, and sustaining engineering to optimally deliver product to production.

  • Virtually or directly lead teams globally to deliver schematic and PCB layout guidance, signal integrity analysis, feedback on thermal, mechanical, industrial design elements, as well as participating in reviews of Bill of Material (BOM) and validation activities.

  • Gather and curate creative technical concepts from a wide variety of technical contributors to help define our next generation data center products.

  • Provide product status updates, communicate issues internally, help drive tactical decisions around setting priorities and solving issues.

  • Occasional travel required to visit JDM/ODM partners to assess capabilities and establish relationships (when COVID restrictions lifted).

  • Understand and execute NVIDIA’s datacenter roadmap and portfolio.

What we need to see:

  • BS required or equivalent experience (Masters preferred) in Engineering with 3+ years of system design experience.

  • Extensive experience with x86 or ARM-based server system design including networking and storage interfaces.

  • Experience with high-speed DDR4/5, PCIe and optical interfaces including chassis power and thermal management.

  • Familiar with BIOS and BMC FW concepts and system telemetry architectures.

  • Experience in using current circuit design tools, preferably Cadence Allegro Schematic Design Entry (Concept HDL), Allegro PCB.

  • Experience with the oscilloscopes/bus analyzers along with debugging techniques to tackle complex board level problems.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with key customers and JDM/ODMs to help resolve technical issues.

  • Key collaborators, with a "can do" perspective, high degree of passion for solving issues that span multiple areas of expertise, and a recorded of success working with management, partners, and peers to achieve success for the team.

The base salary range is $104,000 - $195,500. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
